Fails to start

WebMAP for Silverlight has encountered an error. Tragic, but it happens.

If you get a screen similar to this one when you launch WebMAP for Silverlight:

the most common cause is that .NET Framework 4.6.2 or superior is not installed on the machine.

If you're running WebMAP for Silverlight on Windows 10 or Windows 11, it is very rare to get this error, because .NET Framework 4.8 is already installed on those operating systems. Please contact us at [email protected] to get WebMAP for Silverlight up and running on your system.

If you're running WebMAP for Silverlight on Windows 8.1, please be sure that .NET Framework 4.6.2 (download link) or superior is installed on the machine. Windows 8.1 already includes .NET Framework 4.5.1, but it is not sufficient to run WebMAP for Silverlight.

If you're running on Windows 7, you need to install .NET Framework 4.6.2, which could be tricky if Windows 7 is outdated. Please check out our guide for installation on Windows 7.
